In this last year, an increasingly important critical reflection on the relationship between man/nature and artifice/nature has taken shape, which is having important repercussions on the theory and practice of architectural design. We are undoubtedly facing a paradigmatic change that stems from the awareness of the limitation of resources. This suggests the need to expand the tools and objectives of architectural and urban design in the practices of transformation of the built environment beyond some simplifications offered by the narrative of a desired general renaturalisation of urban areas. The essay offers a synthesis of research topics and experiences addressed in collaboration among universities in the international context and supported by workshops.

Abstract
In this last year, an increasingly important critical reflection on the relationship between man/nature and artifice/nature has taken shape, which is having important repercussions on the theory and practice of architectural design. We are undoubtedly facing a paradigmatic change that stems from the awareness of the limitation of resources. This suggests the need to expand the tools and objectives of architectural and urban design in the practices of transformation of the built environment beyond some simplifications offered by the narrative of a desired general renaturalisation of urban areas. The essay offers a synthesis of research topics and experiences addressed in collaboration among universities in the international context and supported by workshops.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
