Dalla conversazione alla costruzione. La scala della Rotonda di Borgovico tra modelli progetto e cantiere

The architecture of the Borgovico Rotunda takes shape as a new way of living within a dialogue between the client, Eleonora Doria Villani, her closest entourage and the architects she turns to.  The model of the staircase, whether it comes from the pages of a well-known repertoire of French architecture or from the marquise's own memoirs, remedies in extremis the faults due to the absence of a unitary project.  The stairway appears brilliantly deceiving if we look at the materials, the masonry and the vaulting techniques. Moving from paper to built architecture, the construction site seems to be distant from the project. Resulting in a cutback of the construction for a principle of economy and traditional practices, the only ones that could ensure a decent outcome
