The chapter presents three “exploration paths” or “geographies” of transition initiatives selected in order to explore different spheres of discourses on transition initiatives. Due to the particular panorama of transition practices, which are differentiated, punctuated, and fragmented, it is not possible to assume a univocal geography and homogeneous discourse, the three selected exploration paths permit highlighting peculiarities that emerge from three specific approaches to transition. The first path explored is the Transition Town Network that involves approximately 850 local initiatives and that over 10 years of activity developed principles and tools for actions. The second path presents an overview of (a few) initiatives acting on urban commons and urban public life improvement through community-led initiatives. The third path summarizes the Italian Resilience Practices Observatory experiences presenting the barriers and opportunities emerging from the resilience practices involved. In exploring these three geographies, the chapter aims to highlight some peculiarities of transition initiatives and underline common barriers and promising tools for urban regeneration and urban visioning facing climate change and resilience issues.
