The purpose of this work is to analyze a long-distance trip made by an Electric Vehicle (EV). In this case, a high-performance EV capable of traveling long distances (e.g., a Tesla Model 3) was considered. The chosen route consists of a trip between the Canadian cities of Montréal and Ottawa. Two driving conditions were analyzed: urban and highway. The first one considering a Simulink model as a reference, the second one referring directly to the real characteristics of the highway. Results were obtained for shorter distances and then extended to the entire length of the trip. To conclude, a cost and emissions comparison was conducted between the EV and a comparable gasoline vehicle in terms of performance.

Abstract
The purpose of this work is to analyze a long-distance trip made by an Electric Vehicle (EV). In this case, a high-performance EV capable of traveling long distances (e.g., a Tesla Model 3) was considered. The chosen route consists of a trip between the Canadian cities of Montréal and Ottawa. Two driving conditions were analyzed: urban and highway. The first one considering a Simulink model as a reference, the second one referring directly to the real characteristics of the highway. Results were obtained for shorter distances and then extended to the entire length of the trip. To conclude, a cost and emissions comparison was conducted between the EV and a comparable gasoline vehicle in terms of performance.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
