Seeing through Gulf Cities. Urbanization in and from the Arabian Peninsula

Cities like Abu Dhabi, Doha, and Dubai stand out with superlative claims, e.g., the world’s tallest building, the most spectacular museum, and the biggest mall. Anyway, such landmark accomplishments, for better or worse, have complex urban stories behind them, and these stories typically remain unseen and unexplained. Mixing photography, graphics, and text in an innovative way, this publication aims to fill such a void and broaden the knowledge of urbanism today with particular attention to visual and socio-cultural aspects, as well as design-related ones.
