The pandemic has shown the fragility and inadequacy of these urban and territorial systems in responding to the needs and urgencies of a society in transition. Functional creative diversity (and redundancy) emerges as crucial property for the resilience of the socioecological systems governing the processes of interaction between places, people, and nature, constituting a fertile ground for experimentation. The paper presents theoretical considerations and operational proposals rooted in the workshop's outcomes on "Functional Creative Diversity. Innovating urban and territorial models", promoted and organized in 2022 by the REsilienceLab. The expert short communications and the collaborative phase of dialogues focused on different approaches to functional creative diversity: innovation in the organization of services for and for the community; the balance between metropolitan areas and internal areas for the ecosystem balance; the adaptive reuse of cultural heritage for a circular territorial regeneration; digital and collaborative platforms for the reuse of built heritage; the ResilienceHubs for the resilience of socio-ecological systems. The results of the collaborative dialogues have demonstrated the relevance and potential of functional creative diversity to design desirable futures and have established shared points of convergence.

Abstract
The results of the collaborative dialogues have demonstrated the relevance and potential of functional creative diversity to design desirable futures and have established shared points of convergence.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
