Cold-formed structural steel members are more and more adopted in the logistic industry. This makes them particularly susceptible to cyclic loads during their service life, while recommendations related to fatigue design of cold-formed structural steel details are completely missing at European level. This paper will discuss the experimental and numerical procedures adopted to investigate the fatigue strength of cold-formed structural steel details typically used in logistic industry. The results of the research are part of a wider project aimed at defining and providing guidelines for the implementation of fatigue design rules for cold-formed steel details in current European Recommendations.

Abstract
Cold-formed structural steel members are more and more adopted in the logistic industry. This makes them particularly susceptible to cyclic loads during their service life, while recommendations related to fatigue design of cold-formed structural steel details are completely missing at European level. This paper will discuss the experimental and numerical procedures adopted to investigate the fatigue strength of cold-formed structural steel details typically used in logistic industry. The results of the research are part of a wider project aimed at defining and providing guidelines for the implementation of fatigue design rules for cold-formed steel details in current European Recommendations.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
