The platform dedicated to the theme of public schools is giving substance to the “Inventing schools. A school as big as the world” program. Participation in workshops and degree theses creates a “common ground” for discussion between public administration, students, tutors and teachers to explore modifying scenarios of the complex and delicate system of schools and educational spaces. The possibility of working in a coordinated way on 24 case studies agreed with the School Building Department of the Municipality of Milan constitutes an opportunity for a research by design applied to real cases of regeneration/updating the existing schools heritage. Looking for an international dimension, the New European Bauhaus explicitly recalls the school founded in Weimar in 1919 by Walter Gropius.
