Being an apprentice architect in 18th century Verona, the young Paolo Pozzo (1741-1803), son of a humble builder, worked with some of the leading masters active in the promo tion of ancient principles, supported first of all by Scipione Maffei. As many other young architects, Pozzo trained under the protection of the most important architects in Verona at that time, before moving to Mantua to help his brother in trade business. THere, thanks to his intellectual skills, he will later become professor of Architecture in the local Academia.
