Students need to be offered tools that operationally can help them understand the cultural value of the existing architectural heritage from the value that its restoration or enhancement can have on the system (local, regional and/or national, economic and social) to which the heritage good belongs. Since the preservation project is an architectural project then methodological and operational tools can be offered to students to make the design choices that are able, gradually, to introduce and make them understand the preservation project as one of the possible solutions for the preservation, functional recovery and enhancement of goods themselves. The preservation project is based on full respect for the material and historical authenticity(12) of the property, so that the restoration, as well as the additions useful for re-functionalization, are useful to make the property understandable and appreciate all its construction phases.
