Archeologia industriale e paesaggi produttivi lungo il percorso del Grand Tour tra i siti UNESCO del Piemonte: una proposta di turismo lento e di prossimità per lo sviluppo dei territori

This contribution describes a sustainable tourism strategy in the Piedmont Region, where many places of natural, historical and cultural value have been recognized in the World Heritage List, Man and Biosphere, Global Geopark and Creative Cities Network of UNESCO. The extraordinary presence of diverse places has suggested the idea of a system of slow mobility routes strictly interlaced with the railway network, a territorial figure of a Grand Tour, which connects each site and promotes the minor places of the so-called in-between landscapes, which are distinctive and sometimes under-valued. The itinerary is focused in particular on the Productive Landscapes: the places of production and the infrastructure network of roads, railways and bridges, canals, water works and energy production plants become essential components of the landscape for a broad and integrated tourism enhancement strategy.
