Since its foundation in 1863, the Politecnico di Milano has chosen to integrate technical-applicative skills with scientific-mathematical disciplines into its training project, to which two years later, following the establishment under the guidance of Camillo Boito of the Scuola per Architetti, the artistic-humanistic teachings held by teachers of the Accademia di Brera were added. In the Boitian multidisciplinary approach, drawing acts as a guarantor of the balance between different knowledge and spheres, articulating itself in a sequence of courses conceived to lead the student almost naturally, from the metabolization through the drawing of historical forms, to the design elaboration of the new. This approach which, albeit with slight changes, remained constant until the end of the 90s, also constitutes the background of Vittorio Introini, who graduated in Architecture in 1961, whose projects reveal a strong impact of the Boitian lesson. Since the end of the 90s, the advent of virtual representation systems invades into the overview of architect training and seems to have radically questioned it. An experiment conducted on a project by Introini, retracing its steps through the use of digital tools currently available, has instead shown how the way to the project consolidated in the Milanese polytechnic tradition is not in contrast with the contemporary instrumental apparatus, but, indeed, may draw a new impulse from it.

Abstract
An experiment conducted on a project by Introini, retracing its steps through the use of digital tools currently available, has instead shown how the way to the project consolidated in the Milanese polytechnic tradition is not in contrast with the contemporary instrumental apparatus, but, indeed, may draw a new impulse from it.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
