Lo spazio pubblico nel progetto di rigenerazione urbana: il PINQuA nel quartiere Peep Farnesiana a Piacenza

In the most advanced Italian and European experiences, the project of public space assumes a key and unavoidable role to imagine a new quality of contemporary living and to revive the attractiveness generated by the transformations planned in our territories. A space that Jan Gehl defines as a place in which to promote a positive relationship between inhabitants and the urban context, a space that is at the center of human relations. A space that must return to be a stable reference in the processes of settlement transformation and therefore of urban regeneration. In this context, the National Innovative Programme for the Quality of Living (PINQUA) has made available to the Metropolitan Regions, Municipalities and Cities funds for the redevelopment and the increase of the heritage for social housing, as well as the re-functionalization of areas and spaces through the improvement of accessibility and safety of urban areas. This contribution, starting from the above considerations, proposes a critical and proactive analysis of the regeneration project PINQUA “The Triangle” within the district PEEP Farnesiana in the Municipality of Piacenza, with particular attention to the theme of public spaces and urban security.
