Novyj Vkhutemas. Arcaiche approssimazioni per un centro studi cosmopolita dedicato all’industria artistica a Mosca. Novyj Vkhutemas. Archaic approximations for a cosmopolitan study center dedicated to the art industry in Moscow.

The project is a research contribution to the seminar “VKhUTEMAS 100. Space, project, teaching” held at the Doctoral School of the IUAV in 2020-202, in collaboration with those institutions in Moscow which inherited the VKhUTEMAS’ intellectual legacy. This architectural design aims to translate a “typological program” in multiple spatial occasions. Blowing up the studio-gallery-museum triad, according to Harald Szeemann’s punctual definition, it is still highly topical in the process of research, production and transmission in the culture industry. Such a perspective would help us to deconstruct the big empty boxes of contemporary museums in spaces for a new teaching and research arts community.
