Established in the 1947, the Officine Grafiche Dotti were located inside the town, almost cluttering it. Nevertheless, they respect roads and borders. They follow the line of a minor hydraulic system and keep below the consolidated volumes. A sort of urban undergrowth of industrial settlements was created which today triggers a reflection as some are still open and others are no longer. An incoming speculative real estate investment reveals disparate points of view. It is promoted by the town plan's forecasts (which allow existing buildings demolition) and favoured by a regional law (by a volume grant if harmful materials are removed). The opportunity to reactivate this building stock is considered; but, respecting private law, according to a greater sustainable approach for buildings and landscape. In the following pages both architecture and its context, local town planning and regional legislation forecasts, investors and users’ goals will be discussed.
