Mine, in this paper as well as in the communication carried out at the PhD seminar, based on some concrete project experiences conducted through research-actions in the fields of peripheral urban margins and detention “islands”, attempts to address the problem of the alienation of people “inhabitants” in relation to the places in which they stay: effectively losing their status and role as inhabitants, and at the most acquiring that of “transiting”, or “occupying”, often in spite of themselves.
