How can a teacher, in a large class (in person and/or online), know if her students are understanding the lesson? This paper presents EvoliSync, a video-annotation system that allows students to provide real time feedback to the teachers concerning their understanding, so that she can steer the lesson accordingly. Moreover, the tool allows going through the recorded lesson again and providing further, more detailed, feedback with questions and comments. Thus, EvoliSync can support the HyFlex Model, a teaching format that advocates for equal access by synchronous (in person and online) and asynchronous (online) students. An extensive evaluation, with 74 students at higher education level, confirms the validity of the tool.
