Milano. The future of Peripheries. Re-shaping the metropolitan city

The issue of the peripheries is a wide-ranging one, which affects Milan and many areas of the Metropolitan City. The School of Architecture, Urban Planning and Construction Engineering (AUIC), the Departments of Architecture and Urban Studies (DAStU) and Architecture Building and Construction (ABC), the Polisocial programmes of Politecnico di Milano- which have always been places of design experimentation on the themes of the city – present the outcomes of the researches extended on a variety of the most problematic urban areas. The aim is to illustrate research and design exploration that consider the complexity, articulation, and potential of the Milano peripheries.
