In this work we introduce dimensioning criteria for waveguide singlets based on TE201 resonating cavities. By means of an 'ad hoc' developed mode matching software, suitable charts have been prepared to identify the proper combination of the singlet geometrical parameters allowing to obtain the desired values for the equivalent circuit extracted elements. The subsequent refinement can be carried out very quickly being the identified starting point relatively accurate. The proposed procedure allows a noticeable reduction of the time required for dimensioning extracted-pole filters employing the considered singlets.
