The Series Power Electronic Converter (SPEC) is a self supported series compensation device which specifically addresses voltage issues in a LV Network. The SPEC is field tested in a real network and its functional capabilities are evident from the recent works in the literature. Given that the SPEC is one of the viable solutions available for the LV Network, in this work, the ability to also limit fault current to a desired value with respect to device ratings is integrated into the SPEC. This is achieved through the integration of reference voltage based Active Fault Current Limiting (FCL) Algorithm within the SPEC Control Scheme. In order for the control to be practically implementable, a detailed control algorithm is designed. With a complete model of the SPEC, the system performance is validated through the simulations in Typhoon HIL Control Center.

Abstract
With a complete model of the SPEC, the system performance is validated through the simulations in Typhoon HIL Control Center.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
