Calendasco is eight kilometers far from Piacenza, just a little more along the suggested route. It should be said a provincial town; northwestern outskirt of the main town, in turn the threshold between Emilia-Romagna and Lombardy, along the north-south axis of the Peninsula. It is not an inland area; nor a shrinking city, neither a rural village but a mixture of residence and industry, mostly agricultural: a commonplace beyond the industrial suburbs of an attractive and livable town; the rear of a recognized ancient network of routes which other, more modern and faster ones have overlapped. As a starting ongoing case study, the paper focuses on a diachronic vision of the landscape and questions how to collect and return data, or to convey and disseminate them. It empathizes the opportunity of a shared discussion, not only with those involved in landscape and heritage preservation and questions the role and capacity of bottom-up initiatives. It reaffirms a conservative approach as an open and dynamic mode, based on interpretations of architecture as a ‘cumulative’ built environment, that is, aimed to preserve a plurality of values added through time.

Abstract
It reaffirms a conservative approach as an open and dynamic mode, based on interpretations of architecture as a ‘cumulative’ built environment, that is, aimed to preserve a plurality of values added through time.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
