With the birth of the Kingdom of Italy in 1805, the Scala set designers repeatedly pay homage to Napoleon with architectural scenes of a new neo-Egyptian taste. But in the ephemerals and in the new monuments in the city there is little trace of the new decorative taste, which stops at stage painting. This is why we can speak of a half-way homage to the "conqueror" of Egypt, or rather of an Egypte manqué in the architecture in Milan.

Abstract
With the birth of the Kingdom of Italy in 1805, the Scala set designers repeatedly pay homage to Napoleon with architectural scenes of a new neo-Egyptian taste. But in the ephemerals and in the new monuments in the city there is little trace of the new decorative taste, which stops at stage painting. This is why we can speak of a half-way homage to the "conqueror" of Egypt, or rather of an Egypte manqué in the architecture in Milan.File in questo prodotto:
