The restoration of the Sala delle Asse is a complex, multi-year project, involving a variety of different technical aspects. From the start, the need to effectively communicate, through network and multimedia technologies, the restoration work has presented various difficulties, which are however typical of the cultural assets sector: A The need to communicate to a diverse range of figures: restoration specialists, professionals with an interest in cultural assets but not necessarily restoration professionals, those curious about cultural assets (visitors), passing tourists; B The need to reach people coming from different geographic locations: Milan residents who already know the Sforza Castle, people from the region, broadly speaking, and foreigners with little knowledge of the specific historical context; C The need to support continuous communication, over a period of around thirty-six months, not limited to just the beginning and end of the restoration; D The need to valorise both the room in terms of its intrinsic value and the work carried out; E The need to have, at the end, effective documentation of the Sala delle Asse as it will be presented to visitors.
