The choice of light and color to complete the performance of a singer or performer in a live music show is an important and critical issue that can contribute to the success of the event. As part of the show, whether it’s a concert, a musical, ora fashion show, the lighting designer's design choices can make an event unforgettable or sink its quality invalidating the efforts of all the production. In this paper we introduce the evolution of this sector from a technological, methodological and research point of view, comparing it with today’sreality of the professional practice of the stage lighting designer.
