The essay intends to address the theme of the destruction meaning of the totalitarianism's monuments, with particular regard to those of Eastern Europe. The communist regimes have left monuments that Countries, in the post-regime reconstruction phase, tend to eliminate, in particular for the ideological meanings changes in different historical moments. The present reflection is focused on the possibility of understanding which is the meaning of the monument in the post-communist period in different geographical situation as Bulgaria and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
