The year 2003 marked a significant milestone for the management community: Henry Chesbrough's Open Innovation paradigm offered academics and professionals a new perspective on established models in innovation management. Over the years, Open Innovation spread significantly, establishing itself as one of the fundamental models in innovation management. It emerges both theo- retically and practically, with several nuances and perspectives that extended the original model. De- spite its popularity, the debate is still open and growing, with thousand papers published over the years and hundreds just in 2019. This field of research is playing a keystone role in innovation management literature to the point that among researchers and practitioners’ new lenses of interpretation are needed. Thus, this chapter aims at adopting a systematic literature review methodology to systematise Open Innovation strategic goals and practices. It helps R&D professionals choose the right Open Innovation perspective for what they need, seeing all the different sides of this leading paradigm. The results show how three main strategic goals can be identified (i) identifying new directions, (ii) strengthening the market position, and (iii) enhancing the innovation process.

Abstract
The results show how three main strategic goals can be identified (i) identifying new directions, (ii) strengthening the market position, and (iii) enhancing the innovation process.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
