The teaching of “colour” as an autonomous element in composition had been worked out in several departments of VKHUTEMAS/VKHUTEIN: in the Basic Course, in the Faculty of Painting and in the Faculty of Architecture. An overview on these different theoretical approaches can be found in the monographic issue on “Light and Colour” in architecture of the journal «Sovremennaya Arkhitektura», 2, 1929.
