The article addresses the theme of the design of library spaces due to the changes and challenges induced by the 2020 Covid-19 pandemic. After examining the different ways in which libraries have dealt with the lockdown of March-April 2020, the article makes some hypotheses about the possible repercussions on providing library services and, above all, on the design of library spaces. Examinating the changes induced by the pandemic in the field of work and daily life: from the exponential use of new technologies, to the growth of e-commerce, from the reduction of urban movements to social distancing, up to the transformations imposed in the ways of living the city itself and the public spaces.

Abstract
