This chapter concerns the bond behavior of fiber-reinforced polymer (FRP) systems externally applied to structural supports. An exam of the current literature specifically regarding this topic is carried out by analyzing features of both experimental outcomes and theoretical/numerical models. Indeed, starting from a preliminary section that summarizes the main outcomes of studies deduced from literature, the first part of the chapter reports experimental evidence emerged from shear lap bond tests together with theoretical models of the bond behavior carried out on the test evidence. On the other hand, the second part of the chapter specifically analyzes numerical models. Here, the attention is particularly focused on the modeling approaches selected by different authors for simulating the bond mechanism occurring at the reinforcement-substrate interface. Although the chapter examines some of the numerous studies characterizing the literature concerning the bond behavior of FRP systems, it provides a general overview of the main aspects emerging from traditional shear lap tests and characterizes the theoretical and numerical models currently available.
