Penning a definition of design suited to today’s world involves speaking of the tangible and intangible experience of the human being in the environment in which he/she plays the role of subject/creator. As argued by Herbert Simon, design is a process-oriented activity aimed at achieving a transformation in order to create “…something new [or reshape something that exists] for a purpose, to meet a need, to solve a problem or to transform a less desirable situation to a preferred situation” (The Sciences of the Artificial, 1982).

Abstract
Penning a definition of design suited to today’s world involves speaking of the tangible and intangible experience of the human being in the environment in which he/she plays the role of subject/creator. As argued by Herbert Simon, design is a process-oriented activity aimed at achieving a transformation in order to create “…something new [or reshape something that exists] for a purpose, to meet a need, to solve a problem or to transform a less desirable situation to a preferred situation” (The Sciences of the Artificial, 1982).File in questo prodotto:
