The pertinent literature points out the need for new methods in design considering the increasing complexity of the problems in the area. This article, the result of a bibliographic review, presents some considerations regarding systemic thinking and complexity, aiming to apprehend the new characteristics intrinsic to the design procedure. It starts from the premise of design as an articulating element that delineates dynamics and permeates all layers of an organization, with the environment, community, social impact, information flows and a multi- -faceted panorama requiring new multidisciplinary design approaches and new cognitive compositions of thought. Consequently, the assumptions of traditional design models, with strict control at all stages, are weakened to the detriment of new and flexible configurations. The current multidisciplinary nature of design processes in design focuses on the domain of knowledge from various scientific fields and demands interactivity. In addition to the introduction, the text is organized in four more parts. The fundamentals of the new design scenario are described in the first section of the paper. Then, a brief review of the literature on systems and systemic thinking is presented. In the third segment, the relationship between complexity and methodologies is exposed, and, finally, the final considerations are highlighted.

Abstract
In the third segment, the relationship between complexity and methodologies is exposed, and, finally, the final considerations are highlighted.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
