Recent receptions to Rossi’s theoretical thinking in Italy and abroad have frequently been reduced to the bare bones and limited to incomplete aspects, often with a view to legitimizing certain ideologies that are actually quite extraneous to it. The difficulty in understanding the multiple references to other texts and authors, especially when it comes to the early writings and The Architecture of the City in particular, is not helped by interpretations that are biased, often keener on pointing out incoherence and contradictions, or by Italian and foreign editions that often lack suitable critical apparati to clarify the explicit and implicit references contained therein for an audience from a different generation and/or cultural background.

Abstract
Recent receptions to Rossi’s theoretical thinking in Italy and abroad have frequently been reduced to the bare bones and limited to incomplete aspects, often with a view to legitimizing certain ideologies that are actually quite extraneous to it. The difficulty in understanding the multiple references to other texts and authors, especially when it comes to the early writings and The Architecture of the City in particular, is not helped by interpretations that are biased, often keener on pointing out incoherence and contradictions, or by Italian and foreign editions that often lack suitable critical apparati to clarify the explicit and implicit references contained therein for an audience from a different generation and/or cultural background.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
