Forme e gestione degli spazi della vita in pubblico

A large part of the city that we perceive and live is related to the quality of the public open spaces and of the articulation of public and private services that we can acquire and attend. Physical aspects and management of services and places need to be considered in the planning of open spaces. The apparent obviousness of this link is not always reflected in the disciplinary debate and in the urban transformations. The article underlines both the physical aspects and the practices of the places’ use. Several lines of research have approached these issues. They are marginal in architecture and urban planning, and they trespass in other disciplines. The article offers a short review of the different lines of these researches. In conclusion, the article proposes to the urban agenda to favour not only interventions on big urban projects but also to come back to invest on the public spaces of the ordinary city and on the conformation and management also temporal, of places and services.
