The article presents possible different interpretation of “ordinary city” in the recent literature. To focus on some hypothesis of what ordinary city means, the contribution proposes to go through some neighboring concepts, full of implications, such as: the “generic city” of Rem Koolhaas (2006), a broad view as the “structure of the ordinary built environment” discussed by N. John Habraken (2000), and with an option on the side of ordinary landscape (urban and not) that we inhabit as the “sphere that surrounds everyday life”, proposed by Arturo Lanzani (2003).

Abstract
The article presents possible different interpretation of “ordinary city” in the recent literature. To focus on some hypothesis of what ordinary city means, the contribution proposes to go through some neighboring concepts, full of implications, such as: the “generic city” of Rem Koolhaas (2006), a broad view as the “structure of the ordinary built environment” discussed by N. John Habraken (2000), and with an option on the side of ordinary landscape (urban and not) that we inhabit as the “sphere that surrounds everyday life”, proposed by Arturo Lanzani (2003).File in questo prodotto:
