Gio Ponti’s unrecognized architecture

A prolific creator, Gio Ponti (1891-79) not only played a key part in Italian architecture, but also opened up the way for a new art de vivre. This book covers the whole of his long career, from the 1920s to the late 1970s, both in Italy and abroad. It looks at the various fields in which he exercised his talent; private, public and religious commissions, furniture, lighting, ceramics, glass, silverware and textiles, as well as the central role he had in transmitting new ideas through the reviews Domus and Lo Stile. This work, an important reference book on Gio Ponti, pays tribute to the creative universe of this legendary figure on the modern art scene.
