The book proposes a renewed interest for cities and territories’ rhythm analysis. From a theoretical point of view, it gives access keys to rhythms analysis and to the elements of the urban score, integrated with examples of representations of urban and territorial space-time aspects. Furthermore, it presents three action-researches in Italian cities that implemented rhythm analysis in public policy processes. The book is a way to transform a research interest on urban rhythms in usable knowledge for planning; and to give technical tools to urban research and design, in particular in relation to descriptions oriented to the project. It can be a contribution to answer the lack of instruments for rhythms analysis, as pointed out by some European scholars, starting from Henry Lefebvre’s suggestion in the Seventies.
