FARCOS (Femtoscope Array for Correlation and Spectroscopy) is a high-granularity modular detection system. characterized by a high angular and energy resolution to be coupled to 4π detectors in different angular regions depending on the physics case to be addressed. The final system will be composed of 20 telescopes for a total number of 2640 readout channels. An accurate energy calibration is a critical procedure step like in all multichannel detectors, complicated by the dependence of the output light yield of CsI(Tl) scintillators on the particle type and energy combined with the large variety of particles and ions that need to be identified and the wide full-scale energy range up to 2.2 GeV. The paper discusses the architecture of the calibration suite designed for the FARCOS system, its performance and the results of the calibration of the FARCOS telescopes during the first real beam time.

Abstract
The paper discusses the architecture of the calibration suite designed for the FARCOS system, its performance and the results of the calibration of the FARCOS telescopes during the first real beam time.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
