The writer, journalist and poet J.V. Foix (1893-1987) had a very prominent role in Catalan culture, especially in the period of the Avant-gardes at the beginning of 20th Century. However, it is not well known his involvement in architecture as shown through several articles written after he visited the V Triennale in Milan (1933) and further on collected them in the book Mots i maons o a cascú el seu. Part of Foix's work can be considered a critical interpretation of architecture from a literary point of view. Apart a general approval for modernist architecture and Avant-garde, his writings reflected a surprisingly mature conception of architecture that anticipates relevant opinion that both in Italy and Spain would address architecture theoretical works in the second post-war period. Most likely Foix comes into direct contact with the architecture of the Modern Movement while he was visiting the V Triennale and he realized the potential of 'crosswise' interests between architecture and literature and especially between the international context and Catalonia.

Abstract
Most likely Foix comes into direct contact with the architecture of the Modern Movement while he was visiting the V Triennale and he realized the potential of 'crosswise' interests between architecture and literature and especially between the international context and Catalonia.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
