Building Information Modelling (BIM) is recognized as one of the lead2 ing innovations in the construction sector.However, some studies highlight howBIM 3 implementation is lagging behind in small and medium enterprises (SMEs). More4 over, the majority of the research is focused on the construction phase and there is a 5 need for further studies able to demonstrate the possibilities associatedwith the intro6 duction of BIMin construction companies. This paper presents the first set of results 7 from the GreenBIM project focused on the development of a BIM implementation 8 framework from SMEs in the construction sector. In this context, the paper focuses 9 on the quantity estimation starting from building information models analyzed by 10 the construction company.
