The performance optimization of photovoltaic panels in terms of energy production can be achieved by means of hardware and strategy control improvement. As well known the tracking algorithm deciding the working point of the system is key for the system efficiency. An algorithm category featuring good performance both in static and dynamic condition is that of model based maximum power point tracker. In this paper an optimization of the estimation of the model parameter is presented. The new estimation approach guarantees better performance in terms of energy generated by the modeled photovoltaic panel. Moreover, the estimation is more robust being less dependent on data measured in not optimal condition such as during partial shading.

Abstract
