The present paper investigates “co-livings”, a hybrid contemporary housing option that provides tenants a bulk of services, common spaces, flexibility, comfort and a sense of “community”. For developers, it is turning to be a highly profitable business, tackling the residential needs of mobile target groups, such as digital nomads. Co-livings have a different genesis, targets, spaces, services solutions and business models: This article attempts to identify the main characteristics of this specific housing arrangements and analyze the variety of experiences worldwide as well as its’ geography. It also proposes some analytical dimensions that could be useful to orient policymakers as well as academics in dealing with this housing new segment. Our work is based on extensive research on websites, newspaper articles, different organizations reports, academic works and interviews with co-living developers in Europe, North-America and South America.
