Research Alert on Mediterranean Urban Spaces and Cultural Heritage

The text presents the argument of major problems and potentiality of Mediterranean countries as they keep the attention of design researchers and practitioners. The text highlights the request to the sustainable development of the Mediterranean Urban Space and Cultural Heritage, reporting the voice of several authors from the Egyptian Academy. This request configures together a set of design discourses and practices that describe a direction towards what we now call “Social Design”. With this, we mean a reflective, and creative practice able to face the situations of uncertainty, the challenges of social innovation, awareness, and their sustainable and durable development.
