Abstract
The “Research by Design” workshop discussed in this paper was held as part of the PhD in Urban Planning Design and Policy. The title of the workshop explicitly refers to the desire to consider the practice of design a research tool in itself. Design is not a self-evidently a means of research and, as such, merits a number of methodological considerations. The contribution reflects on the projects realized, with the aim of proposing general consideration about the practice of design and the concept of design "as a tool" and its necessary characteristics, in the urban transformation processes.File in questo prodotto:
