We introduce ROBO3, a simple puzzle game that can support the teaching basic coding skills. The game is inspired to well known coding games, such as LightBot and CargoBot, where the player controls a robot by creating a small program. Players are not expected to have any previous coding experience, as programs are simply a sequence of actions the robot can perform. Teachers can design their own puzzles that focus on different programming concepts and patterns they want their students to learn and practice. All the actions performed by the students in game are recorded, allowing the teachers to monitor either the progresses criticalities during the class.

Abstract
We introduce ROBO3, a simple puzzle game that can support the teaching basic coding skills. The game is inspired to well known coding games, such as LightBot and CargoBot, where the player controls a robot by creating a small program. Players are not expected to have any previous coding experience, as programs are simply a sequence of actions the robot can perform. Teachers can design their own puzzles that focus on different programming concepts and patterns they want their students to learn and practice. All the actions performed by the students in game are recorded, allowing the teachers to monitor either the progresses criticalities during the class.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
