In the framework of the construction of a new industrial building in Como, three different types of slabs made with hybrid reinforcement were designed and executed according to Model Code 2010. Two foundation slabs on piles cast on site without any joint, connected along their perimeter to foundation beams on piles made also with FRC; two elevated slabs cast on site also made of hybrid reinforcement and finally an industrial SFRC slab partially prefabricated with SFRC prestressed beams, supported at their ends on prefabricated R/C beams, SFRC prefabricated plates supported at their ends on the SFRC beams and a pumped SFRC top slab connecting to all the prefabricated elements, represent three good examples of SFRC applications. In the paper the design and construction phases are described and explained in order to highlight the main advantages of the proposed solution.
