In the face of increasing vulnerability and complexity of the business environment, companies have started embedding the concept of resilience in their supply chains in order to handle disruptions. This paper investigates the relationship between product complexity, disruption and performance using the role of resilience capabilities as moderating variables in the relationships mentioned above. The relationships have been tested using data from the sixth editions of the International Manufacturing Strategy Survey (IMSS). Data highlights how product complexity increases the probability of disruption occurrence, which in turn affects plant performance, while resilience allows supply chains to reduce the harmful effects of a disruption.

Abstract
In the face of increasing vulnerability and complexity of the business environment, companies have started embedding the concept of resilience in their supply chains in order to handle disruptions. This paper investigates the relationship between product complexity, disruption and performance using the role of resilience capabilities as moderating variables in the relationships mentioned above. The relationships have been tested using data from the sixth editions of the International Manufacturing Strategy Survey (IMSS). Data highlights how product complexity increases the probability of disruption occurrence, which in turn affects plant performance, while resilience allows supply chains to reduce the harmful effects of a disruption.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
