It is certainly possible that Adriano and his architects were well aware that what they were configuring and designing in the design studio of the Tiburtina palace, was already an absolute masterpiece in their eyes. His understanding was more difficult and slow in the centuries following the fall of the Empire. But from the Humanism onwards the Villa has produced an authentic iconic fulguration capable of seducing the best architects in circulation on classical soil up to today, from Francesco di Giorgio Martini to Luigi Moretti, from Bramante to Giancarlo de Carlo, da John Soane a Richard Mayer passing through Piranesi and the French pensionnaires of Villa Medici.
