The research discusses and involves the regeneration of the public spaces of the Historical Center of São Paulo, Brazil. The study opens with an analysis of the Center which suffers for the typical problems of South America areas: the 'mega-cities' phenomenon which caused a rapid growth, social inequality and informal employment in the area. Nevertheless, the Center is still the place that preserves the historical memory, the cultural and architectural heritage of the city. The following experimentation reflects on the public space, developing a system where it is possible to rediscover the history and identity of the city Center.

Abstract
The research discusses and involves the regeneration of the public spaces of the Historical Center of São Paulo, Brazil. The study opens with an analysis of the Center which suffers for the typical problems of South America areas: the 'mega-cities' phenomenon which caused a rapid growth, social inequality and informal employment in the area. Nevertheless, the Center is still the place that preserves the historical memory, the cultural and architectural heritage of the city. The following experimentation reflects on the public space, developing a system where it is possible to rediscover the history and identity of the city Center.File in questo prodotto:
