Prison is certainly a place of isolation, but in the case of the prison of Busto Arsizio (VA), it is also a place of urban "centrality", flanked to what for centuries has been the place of the privilege, the mansion of the feudal Lord of Busto). The paper presents the case of Busto, where a small compact prison realized in mid XIX century, was disused in the 80’s of the XX century. The building was never reused and still presents its original shape. The chance to reuse it is now favorable, because the municipality recently discovered the value of this construction.
