Working on the samples of two facades of Romanesque and Gothic churches in Pisa, Duomo and San Michele in Borgo, the conclusions of a study entitled “Compositional methods in Pisa and Lucca architecture. Loggia facades in Pisa and Lucca between the 12th and 14th centuries” are here anticipated. The sample presented focuses on the musicality in architectural composition that cannot be exclusively referred to the problem of “proportion” but involves other aspects of architectural expressiveness.
